Engineering Team Leader/Planner

A global leader in specialty materials, is seeking an Engineering Team Leader/Planner to join their team based at their manufacturing plant in Bolton, Lancashire. You will lead a 3-person engineering team, ensuring equipment reliability and minimal downtime. This hands-on role involves planning, resource management, and driving a culture of continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and plan daily engineering tasks to meet production KPIs.
  • Manage maintenance programs using CMMS (Maintain X).
  • Conduct root cause analysis and implement breakdown elimination strategies.
  • Track maintenance performance and manage spend, spare parts, and service contracts.
  • Oversee contractor management, safety (LOTO), and 5S standards.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Maintenance Planner, ideally with CMMS software.
  • Multi-skilled: 70% mechanical / 30% electrical (Apprenticeship/NVQ Level 4).
  • Strong mechanical/electrical fault-finding skills.
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and leadership abilities.

Desirable:

  • Experience in Paper, Printing, Hot Air Systems, Boilers/Combustion.
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing techniques.
