Your new role
Our client is seeking an experienced Managing Quantity Surveyor to join their commercial team. This role is pivotal in overseeing the financial and contractual aspects of construction projects, ensuring cost control, value engineering, and overall commercial success. The ideal candidate will take a strategic approach to managing a team of quantity surveyors, ensuring the successful delivery of projects within budget and to the highest standards.
Salary: 70,000 - 85,000 + Package
Responsibilities will include:
Overseeing and managing all quantity surveying duties across multiple construction projects.
Preparing and reviewing cost estimates, budgets, and financial reports.
Managing subcontractor procurement, payments, and contract administration.
Leading the commercial team, providing guidance and mentorship to junior quantity surveyors.
Ensuring compliance with contractual obligations, risk management, and value engineering.
Conducting cost analysis, forecasting, and monitoring project expenditure.
Negotiating and resolving any contractual disputes or claims.
Working closely with project managers, clients, and stakeholders to ensure financial and contractual success.
Producing reports on project financial performance and advising senior management accordingly.
Ensuring that all commercial procedures align with company policies and industry standards.
What you will need to succeed:
A degree (or equivalent) in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field.
Extensive experience in quantity surveying within the construction industry, ideally in a senior or managerial role.
Strong knowledge of construction contracts, procurement strategies, and cost management.
Excellent leadership and team management skills.
Strong negotiation, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
Proficiency in relevant industry software and financial management tools.
A results-driven approach with excellent attention to detail.
A valid UK driving license (preferred).
