Reed Education is on the lookout for an enthusiastic and dedicated Science Teacher to join a supportive secondary school in Lancaster. This role offers an immediate start and is a long-term position. The successful candidate will possess a robust understanding of the Science curriculum, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to fostering an engaging and dynamic learning environment for students at KS3 and KS4 levels. Experience with KS5 would be highly advantageous.

Day-to-Day of the Role:

  • Deliver Science lessons in line with the curriculum, ensuring a high standard of teaching and learning is maintained.
  • Create and maintain a stimulating and safe learning environment for all students.
  • Engage and inspire students in science, fostering a passion for the subject.
  • Prepare, mark, and assess assignments, tests, and examinations to monitor student progress.
  • Provide constructive feedback to students and communicate effectively with parents and guardians.
  • Collaborate with fellow educators to share best practices and contribute to the school’s continuous professional development.
  • Uphold the school’s policies and safeguarding procedures, maintaining high standards of discipline and behaviour.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Must hold QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) or an equivalent teaching qualification.
  • Recent and relevant experience teaching Science at KS3 and KS4, with KS5 experience being beneficial.
  • Demonstrated excellence in classroom practice with strong subject knowledge and classroom management skills.
  • A reliable and committed individual who can serve as a positive role model for students.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to be punctual, patient, and confident when working with children.
