Assistant Headteacher / Curriculum Lead

Prospero Teaching are seeking an experienced Assistant Headteacher to develop and improve the curriculum of an Ofsted Rated "Good" SEMH Secondary School in Lancaster. This is an exciting opportunity to work closely with the Headteacher and drive positive change within the school, and to further the educational development of the students. Only candidates with strong SLT experience and QTS will be considered. Experience with SEMH is desirable.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with the daily running of the school, ensuring that operational, safeguarding, and educational standards are met.
  • Lead and manage a team of staff, including teachers and support staff, providing guidance and professional development.
  • Develop and implement school policies, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and best practices.
  • Monitor and evaluate teaching and learning outcomes to support continuous improvement.
  • Oversee pupil progress, behaviour, and wellbeing, ensuring personalised support for all students.
  • Collaborate with parents, carers, and external agencies to maintain strong partnerships and effective communication.
  • Support the Headteacher in strategic planning and decision-making to drive the school's vision and ethos.
  • Lead assemblies, organise staff meetings, and oversee key areas of the curriculum or pastoral care.
  • Develop and improve the curriculum in close collaboration with the Headteacher.

Requirements:

  • Strong SLT and curriculum experience
  • QTS
