Introduction

Our client is a successful, high performing Regional Building Society who are looking for a visionary leader to create a thriving, meaningful and sustainable physical distribution channel in the Society’s heartland which is core to the 2025-2030 Business Strategy. This role will be pivotal in both defining and leading the changes required to deliver on the creation of the "community hub" vision and a scaled direct mortgage advice service.

The role has senior leadership responsibility for the Society’s heartland distribution, leading the creation (and subsequent delivery) of the functional strategy and resultant 1, 3 and 5yr business plans. In parallel, the role will lead the day-to-day distribution activities, ensuring that both member outcomes and commercial objectives are delivered.

Key Responsibilities of the Head of Direct Distribution include:

  • Definition and delivery of the strategic direction for direct distribution, in support of the wider Business Strategy
  • Creation of integrated 1, 3 and 5 year business plans, including but not limited to, people, product, culture, risk and costs
  • Creation and management of an effective control framework that ensures operational, conduct and financial risks are actively managed
  • Creation of a colleague development plan, where talent and capability within the area is increased to benefit the member experience and mitigate succession planning risk
  • Definition and delivery of a measurement framework that clearly and accurately articulates progress against key outcomes and deliverables

Key skills & experiences required of the Head of Direct Distribution:

  • Exceptional communicator who is able to translate complex discussions into tangible actions and key messages
  • Previous experience in managing large sales teams or a branch network
  • Analytical and sound decision making skills
  • Report writing and presentation skills
  • Ability to adapt style and interact at all levels, maintaining credibility
  • Innovative thinker
  • Relevant experience in the financial services sector or comparable regulated industry, at a senior level
