Our client is seeking a Finance Assistant with proven accountancy experience, preferably within an SME, a keen eye for detail, and a strong team spirit.
Day-to-day of the role:-
Accounts Receivable/Credit Control:
- Post cash from the bank and maintain credit control for the business unit.
- Liaise with the Sales Director to manage debt collection and discuss account statuses.
- Ensure accurate cash allocation to customer accounts and conduct regular reviews of aged debt.
- Provide the management team with updates on "trouble" debtors and overall credit control status.
- Support the Sales desk with credit limits and debtor balances management.

Accounts Payable:
- Code and post supplier invoices, ensuring approval for payment.
- Manage employee expenses.
- Address queries with suppliers and resolve issues promptly.
- Conduct payment runs twice a month and handle expense analysis and reconciliation.

Stock Management:
- Coordinate with the supply chain on stock orders and monitor deliveries to manage cash flow.
- Ensure accurate movement of goods in transit to stock.
- Perform monthly stock reconciliations between the accounting system and the internal system.

Financial and Management Accounting:
- Assist with month-end activities and intercompany balance agreements.
- Support the annual audit process and review overheads for potential savings.
- Manage accounts payable and ensure timely execution of monthly payment runs.

Financial Control:
- Ensure adherence to financial controls and monitor authorisation levels.
- Perform regular bank reconciliations.
- Proven experience in finance within an SME environment.
- Strong attention to detail and excellent organisational skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proficiency in financial software.
- Good communication skills and the ability to liaise effectively with various departments.
