About the RoleWe are excited to announce a vacancy for a full-time Non-Qualified SEN Teacher specialising in Art, working with students aged 11-19 with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC). This role is based in a unique, nurturing environment designed to engage students emotionally and academically. The successful candidate will deliver group sessions in a "homely" setting, ensuring students feel secure while receiving a high-quality education.

Key Responsibilities•    Plan and deliver creative, target-based Art lessons tailored to students’ needs•    Build trusting relationships to support students’ emotional and academic development•    Implement behaviour management strategies with a focus on resolution and reflection•    Promote outdoor learning by integrating it into lessons wherever possible•    Monitor and assess student progress using assessment software•    Embed British values and opportunities for students’ social and cultural development•    Mark students' work and provide feedback in line with the marking policy•    Contribute to students’ Individual Education Plans (IEPs)•    Work collaboratively with other teachers and professionals•    Ensure compliance with safeguarding policies and Keeping Children Safe in Education legislation•    Participate in staff meetings, training, and moderation sessions•    Engage with the local community through planned educational sessions

Essential Experience & Skills•    Minimum of 2 years’ experience supporting children with ASC•    Understanding of behaviour management techniques and de-escalation strategies•    Ability to work collaboratively with professionals, parents, and carers•    Experience delivering education outside of a conventional classroom setting•    Knowledge of safeguarding and child protection policies•    Strong communication skills, empathy, and resilience

Preferred Qualifications•    Team Teach or relevant safe handling training•    First Aid certification•    Autism Level 1 & 2 qualifications
