Alexander Daniels are working with an established business based in Leamington Spa to recruit a Assistant Payroll Manager on a full time, permanent basis. The ideal candidate will have an analytical mind and a passion for all things payroll.

Daily Duties will include:

  • Managing the end-to-end monthly payroll process.
  • Maintaining accurate employee records and analysing payroll data for discrepancies.
  • Monthly team meetings for direct reports to ensure workload is managed effectively and individual targets are being met.
  • Process Real Time Information (RTI) submissions to HMRC as required.
  • Knowledge of accounts payable functions related to payroll.
  • Prepare reports on payroll metrics for management review, identifying trends or areas for improvement.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant laws and regulations pertaining to payroll processing.
  • Resolving pay-related queries, correcting any errors, and working with internal stakeholders to accurately complete payroll requests.
  • Producing and reconciling payroll journals to ensure correct information is reported back to senior management.
  • Other ad-hoc duties.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in a payroll management role or similar position within accounting or HR.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting or payroll software.
  • Strong people management skills and the ability to lead a team.
  • Excellent analytical skills with a keen attention to detail.
  • Proficient in data entry with a high level of accuracy.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to explain complex information clearly to employees at all levels.
