Senior Buyer

39 hours per week (Monday to Thursday 7.30-4.30, Friday 7.30-12.30)

We are recruiting for a Senior Buyer, based in Leamington Spa on a full time, permanent basis. You will be required to work on site 4 days a week.  Based in the heart of Leamington Spa, our client is a large, well-established manufacturing company with a rich history across the UK and globally.

As the Senior Buyer, you will join and experienced and dynamic team, reporting directly to the Supply Chain Manager. You will support in driving the procurement strategy, whilst supporting new product introduction and internal collaboration to ensure efficient sourcing of high quality materials and components.

Responsibilities of the Senior Buyer:

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to ensure the procurement of high-quality raw materials and components
  • Oversee commodity management, ensuring strategic souring and cost-effectiveness
  • Identify and implement cost-saving initiatives with compromising quality or eff
  • Negotiate and manage supplier contracts, including pricing and terms, and service agreements
  • Source, evaluate and onboard new suppliers to enhance supply chain resilience
  • Lead and execute procurement projects to drive operational improvements and business objectives

Experience required for the Senior Buyer:

  • MCIPS or CIPS level 4 qualified
  • Proven experience in the manufacturing or automotive industries, with UK based expertise
  • Strong background in ethical sourcing electrical and gas components, as well as raw materials (stainless and mild steel)
  • Demonstrated ability to manage projects from start to finish, as well as contract management
  • Experience in commodity management
