Finance Assistant
  • Location: Hybrid (Office located in Leamington Spa)
  • Contract Type: 9-month fixed term contract (with possible extension or permanent conversion)
  • Reports to: Finance Manager

We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Finance Assistant to join our client. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys working within a small, friendly and supportive team. 

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Sales Ledger/Credit Control:
    • Assist with the investigation of invoice queries, working directly with councils and internal staff.
    • Support debt collection activities and manage the aged debt report.
  • Payroll:
    • Address payroll queries and assist in preparing payroll data submissions to an outsourced provider.
    • Perform weekly and month-end payroll checks and ensure accurate data submission from branches.
    • Complete new starter forms and conduct regular sales ledger reconciliations.
  • Purchase Ledger:
    • Upload invoices and assist with payment queries.
    • Manage and organise actions from the Finance Inbox.
  • Assist with other projects as required by the Finance Manager or CFO.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Experience in a finance environment is essential.
  • Proficiency in basic Excel; knowledge of Xero is advantageous but not essential.
  • Excellent numerical and analytical skills with a keen attention to detail.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines.
  • A 'can do' attitude and excellent communication skills are crucial.
