Your new companyA primary school situated in Leamington Spa which is easily accessible via Rugby, Coventry and Stratford Upon Avon is looking for a teacher to work in their SEN unit. This unit has 8 Key Stage 2 children in it. This school is situated within the heart of its community and prides itself on giving the children the very best curriculum that supports academic success and sets them up with life skills. Your new roleYour new job as an SEN unit teacher will be to work with 8 key stage 2 children who mainly have autism and ADHD with a focus on communication and interaction. You will be required to ensure their learning is tailored to their needs and their EHCPs are followed. They should spend the day learning from an exciting curriculum and have the opportunity to integrate back into a mainstream classroom. You will be supported within the unit by 3-4 teaching assistants. What you'll need to succeedTo succeed in this new job, you will ideally have experience of working with a range of children, including those with autism and ADHD. Previous experience of leading an SEN unit would be desirable but not essential. As the children are working at a range of levels, it is not a necessity that you have a key stage 2 background. Good communication skills are required as you will be working closely with the school SENCO and leadership team as well as the teaching assistants and external agencies.
