Description

The Commercial Accountant will assist Finance Managers and the Commercial Finance Manager with all aspects of financial planning, analysis, reporting, and management for multiple projects. This will include:

  • Gaining an in-depth knowledge of financial systems, becoming proficient in their use, and providing support to the finance team, as well as commercial and marketing teams.
  • Assisting Finance Managers in performing cost reconciliations and verifying that cost-to-complete estimates are accurate and sufficient.
  • Developing a strong understanding of site strategies and critical success factors across various projects.
  • Reviewing project costs and benchmarking them against other schemes or phases to identify trends and opportunities.
  • Collaborating with sales teams to refine sales and marketing strategies, incorporating market research and sales objectives.
  • Compiling budget and forecast updates for periodic budget review processes.
  • Supporting the central finance team during half-year and year-end reporting cycles, as well as providing assistance with project-specific requirements.
  • Handling ad-hoc requests from group-level stakeholders as needed.
  • Ensuring the accuracy and reliability of financial data to produce error-free reports.
  • Sharing financial expertise and insights with project teams to inform decision-making.
  • Demonstrating advanced proficiency in Excel and financial modeling.
  • Overseeing VAT compliance by reviewing and approving VAT invoices for accuracy.
  • Verifying the accuracy of commissions and legal fees and ensuring all necessary supporting documents are in place.
  • Maintaining and updating site cash flow and profit forecasts with precision.
