My client is seeking a competent Financial Accountant who can contribute towards the success of their Accounting & Finance department. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of financial reporting, general ledger structure, and manufacturing industry trends.

Description
Financial Accounting and Tax
路 Preparation of Statutory Accounts, Income Statements, Balance Sheet and Cashflow
路 Perform balance sheet accounts reconciliations for designated area of responsibility.
路 Monthly accruals for interest on loan and taxes; including deferment accounts.
路 Tax returns preparation and submissions; includes CIS calculations and submissions to HMRC.
路 Oversight of fixed assets, capital allowances, and writing down allowances; ensuring all incentives are utilized.
路 Supporting capitalization projects and business cases
路 Maintaining Relevant Contracts Tax process and submissions, ensuring full compliance
路 Concur (Expense system) - processing, supporting all member expense claims (monthly, weekly), queries.
Financial Reporting, Statutory Reporting and FP&A
路 Periodic (monthly, quarterly, half year and annual) Group Reporting and data inputs as required for income statements, balance sheet and cashflow.
路 Pulse (Corporate PowerBI) Reports: Grasp, create and circulate key reports to internal stakeholders.
路 Capex reporting
路 HMRC (HM Revenue and Customs) Returns and Office of National Statistics - maintaining register, ensuring compliance and on-time reporting.
路 Business Payment Practices and Performance Reporting to HMRC
路 Work with Legal on statutory returns as appropriate, includes Group Tax reporting obligations.
Audit & Ad hoc
路 Performing sample and interim tests in preparation for annual statutory audit
路 Closely liaise with appointed external Auditors and prepare audited accounts.
路 Proactively support with Internal Audit as required (ICFR process / periodic Global Assurance visits)
路 Ad hoc admin duties.
路 Ensure consistent documentation of all tasks and activities according to internal policies.
路 Continuously review and improve finance processes and controls.
路 Support Head of Accounting with proper alignment with timely and accurate reporting to Global Schindler and external statutory stakeholders
Wider Team coverage
While this role focuses fundamentally on financial accounting activities and related matters, the individual will also be called upon to cover team members in times of absence in the following areas:
路 Treasury Officer cover for critical items, such as (but not limited to) FX clearing, hedging, cash allocations, payments, Disposition.
路 Management Accountant cover for critical items, management account journals, fixed assets, accounts payable support and completing payment requests/runs.
Profile
路 Professional accounting qualification is required.
路 Technical knowledge of latest IFRS, with regular maintenance
路 Excellent work ethic, a collaborative approach across of the departments is a must.
路 Confidence to communicate with all levels within the business and external parties such as banks.
路 Enjoy working with people across finance and non-finance teams and be comfortable working in multiple accounting systems.
路 Determination and flexibility to ensure all deadlines are met.
路 >3 years in a finance environment
路 Proficient use of Excel. PowerBI knowledge (or aptitude to learn) is a must.
路 SAP experience will be highly regarded.
