We are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Engineering Lecturer to join our professional Technology department at an FE college in Surrey. This role offers an exciting opportunity to teach and mentor adult trainees working for a major national Electricity Network Distribution Operator, primarily at HNC Level 4.
About the Role:
Working closely with the Project Manager, Director of Learning, Programme Manager, and the wider Engineering team, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality education, mentoring students, and driving continuous improvement within the college.
Key responsibilities include:
*Delivering engaging and interactive teaching at Level 4 in Electrical Power Networks and Distribution Engineering.
*Developing course materials, writing assignments, and ensuring compliance with awarding body requirements.
*Providing tutorial and pastoral support to students.
*Promoting attendance, participating in team meetings, and supporting quality processes.
*Collaborating with colleagues to ensure a high standard of teaching and learning.
*Covering and supporting other subjects and levels as required.
Key Requirements:
*To be successful in this role, you should have:
*A teaching qualification (or a willingness to work towards one, as we welcome industry professionals transitioning into education).
*Confidence to deliver teaching at Level 4 in subjects related to Electrical Power Engineering.
*A minimum of a Level 4 qualification in a relevant industry-related subject.
*Experience in mentoring and coaching (desirable but not essential).
Teaching Model:
This is a hybrid teaching role, with the majority of teaching delivered via Microsoft Teams. For 13 weeks per year, you will deliver in-person teaching at conference centres in Maidstone, Crawley, Cambridge, Borehamwood, and Bury St. Edmunds. Travel expenses and accommodation (if required) will be covered.
