We are working with a well-established charitable foundation dedicated to improving the lives of individuals and communities across the UK to recruit for a Head of Partnerships to oversee the charity's partnership and grant programmes.

The Contract

  • Salary: £45,000 - £50,000 FTE
  • Contract type: Fixed term, 11 months (maternity cover)
  • Working Hours: 37.5 hours per week

About the role

As the Head of Partnerships, you will manage the charity partnerships and grant programmes, support the Partnerships and Engagement Managers, and directly handle key partnerships, including Strategic and Development Fund partnerships. Your role includes building relationships, monitoring grants, evaluating impact, and identifying new opportunities, while contributing to the development of the Foundation's strategy.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the day-to-day management of the charity partnerships.
  • Lead the delivery of funding programmes and develop future initiatives.
  • Line manage the Partnerships and Engagement Managers.
  • Identify and cultivate new partnerships, proposing applications to the Board.
  • Engage in exploratory conversations with potential partners.
  • Lead partnership renewals and prepare proposals for Board approval.
  • Enhance systems, processes, and administration within the partnerships team.
  • Attend Trustees meetings and report on key partnerships.
  • Support strategic and business planning for future developments.
  • Represent the Charity at public events as needed.
  • Manage a portfolio of key charity partnerships.

About you

  • Experience working at a senior level within a grant-making organisation or the wider voluntary sector.
  • Line management or leadership experience.
  • Able to work across a large portfolio of charity partnerships and manage multiple deadlines.
  • Creative and resourceful: able to show initiative, solve problems, and identify areas for improvement.
  • Builds strong working relationships, both internally and externally.
  • Strong project management skills.
  • Strong strategic thinking skills.
  • Excellent organisation and time management skills, with the ability to work to deadlines.
  • Good IT skills, particularly using Microsoft Office.
  • Good numeracy skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Able to work effectively within a small team.
