An outstanding independent day and boarding school in Surrey is seeking a dynamic and experienced Head of Psychology to lead its successful department from September 2025. This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate and committed teacher to shape the delivery of Psychology at both A Level and IB (Higher and Standard Levels).
The Head of Psychology will be responsible for leading the department, overseeing student progress, and ensuring the highest standards of teaching and learning. The successful candidate will inspire both students and colleagues through a positive, energetic, and innovative approach.
The Role:
Deliver AQA A Level Psychology and IB Psychology (training can be provided for IB if needed)
Monitor and track academic progress across Key Stage 5
Lead departmental planning, assessment, and resource development
Contribute fully to school life, including pastoral responsibilities and co-curricular involvement
Maintain high standards of classroom discipline and student engagement
The Ideal Candidate:
Holds a good honours degree in Psychology or a related subject
QTS and/or recognised teaching qualification
Experience teaching Psychology to 16-18 year-olds, ideally across A Level and IB
Passionate about subject delivery and developing learners' curiosity
Organised, flexible, and an excellent team player
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Committed to safeguarding and child protection
