Senior Flavour Scientist

Reed Scientific are seeking a Flavour Scientist with a strong background in chemistry or food science, who is enthusiastic about innovation and quality control in flavour development. This role is ideal for someone with leadership experience and a passion for the food and beverage industry.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities:

  • Quality Management: Oversee and enhance the Quality Management System for the flavour team, ensuring compliance and efficiency.
  • Product Development and Research:  Develop new products and flavours based on customer-driven demand. Formulate flavour complexes and dilute to achieve specific results.
  • Process Optimisation: Work closely with the production team to streamline processes and implement improvements.
  • Equipment and Supplies Management: Manage the procurement, testing, and maintenance of laboratory equipment and supplies.
  • Flavour Standard Complexes: Assist with the production of flavour standard complexes.
  • Team Collaboration: Provide support and leadership to the team, ensuring effective collaboration and communication.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Food Science, or related field.
  • Experience: At least 4 years in industrial flavour science or laboratory management, with proven success in a management role.
  • Skills: Strong problem-solving abilities, familiarity with ISO & Quality standards, excellent interpersonal and leadership skills, and effective time management.
  • Personal Traits: A keen interest in food science, detail-oriented, proactive with a valid driver’s license and access to a car, as well as full right to work in the UK (visa sponsorship is not offered).
