Our client is a specialist in Passive Fire Protection (PFP), providing essential fire safety solutions to a wide range of sectors, including commercial, residential, and industrial projects. Our company is growing rapidly, and we are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Junior Quantity Surveyor to join our team.

This role will be based around interior fire protection, smoke alarms, fire coating protection etc.

The Role:
As a Junior Quantity Surveyor in Passive Fire Protection, you will work closely with our senior QS team, learning the ins and outs of cost management, contract administration, and project financial control within the fire safety sector. This position provides hands-on experience and an excellent opportunity for professional growth, with full training provided.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assisting with cost estimation, budgeting, and financial forecasting for PFP projects
  • Supporting the preparation and submission of tender documents and contract negotiations
  • Helping to monitor costs and project progress to ensure compliance with the budget and client requirements
  • Assisting with valuations, variations, and preparation of payment applications
  • Conducting site visits to assess work progress and liaise with the project teams
  • Supporting the analysis of risks, cost savings, and value engineering opportunities
  • Building strong relationships with clients, contractors, and suppliers
  • Learning and applying industry-specific fire protection regulations and compliance standards

Requirements:

  • Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related discipline
  • Strong numerical skills and attention to detail
  • Good communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Eagerness to learn about Passive Fire Protection systems and industry regulations
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word) and basic project management software
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Some knowledge or interest in fire safety or construction safety (preferred but not essential)
