Profile

Our client is a leading precision manufacturing business who create and complete their highly detailed and complex product on site ready for delivery to their internationally renowned customers. This is a brand-new position to keep up with demand and growth. You will be joining a 10 strong team of experienced Design/CAM Engineers.

Ideal candidate background

  • Experience in the design of either: injection mould tooling, press tooling, raw castings, machined parts, turned parts, EDM parts, sheet metal parts, metal parts for complex mechanical build
  • Knowledge of modern manufacturing methods
  • Sound CAD skills (Siemens NX or SolidWorks would be advantageous) including part/assembly design, and detailed drawing generation
  • Sound BOM management
  • Ability to use tools such as DRBFMs or DFMEAs for risk management

Responsibilities

  • A detailed knowledge of manufacturing techniques and processes which may include machining, presswork, inspection, moulding and metrology
  • Design to Manufacture experience of tooling or equipment including requirements capture, concept generation and down selection, development, manufacture and commissioning
  • Creation of formal technical information including technical drawings, design support information including reports and calculations.
  • Experience of presenting at formal design reviews is beneficial
  • 3D parametric CAD packages, preferably Siemens NX or SolidWorks
  • Product Lifecycle Management Tools
  • DFMEAs (Design Failure Mode and Effect Analysis)

  • Training provided where necessary which includes learning new processes and software packages.

  • 20 days holiday plus 8 bank holidays rising 1 day per each year of service to maximum of 25 days.
