An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated and detail-oriented Assistant Management Accountant to join a dynamic property business. This role offers the chance to support a dedicated operational finance team, carrying out crucial reporting and month-end activities, while ensuring strict adherence to compliance.

*3 days per week hybrid**easy accesible City Centre location* *6 month contract - potential to turn permanent*

What you'll do:

As an Assistant Management Accountant, your role will be pivotal in supporting our operational finance team. You will be responsible for preparing monthly and quarterly reports, aiding in the transition of our bank reconciliation process to an automated output, and achieving month-end closing procedures. Your keen eye for detail will ensure all financial data is accurately recorded within set deadlines. Additionally, you will review and monitor managing agent reports, post journals promptly, and work collaboratively with colleagues to update this process. Your role extends to reviewing companies house filings for at-risk tenants, lodging claims, and safeguarding our group interest. Engaging with our internal customers will also form part of your duties as you assist with the management of actions arising from debt meetings. Lastly, you will oversee the resolution of ad-hoc operational questions supporting the accounts payable and receivable areas.

  • Preparation of monthly and quarterly reports, including performance management of rental portfolio and cash reporting across key cost lines.
  • Support transition of bank reconciliation process to an automated output.
  • Achieve month-end closing procedures, ensuring all financial data is accurately recorded.
  • Review and monitor managing agent reports, posting journals in a timely manner.
  • Review companies house filings for at-risk tenants, lodging claims and protecting group interest.
  • Engage with internal customers to assist with management of actions arising from debt meetings.
  • Oversee resolution of ad-hoc operational questions supporting the accounts payable and receivable areas.

What you bring:

As an ideal candidate for the Assistant Management Accountant position, you are a part-qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA) with strong analytical skills. You are comfortable working as part of a team and have excellent written and spoken communication skills. Your proficiency in Excel will be essential in this role. A background in property would be desirable but not essential. Knowledge of service charge and Oracle JDE Enterprise One would be advantageous.
