Description
- Leads audit engagements for clients across various industries, managing the entire audit cycle
- Plans and executes audit procedures according to firm methodology and regulatory requirements
- Identifies financial reporting risks and evaluates internal control systems
- Prepares and reviews audit working papers, ensuring documentation meets quality standards
- Develops audit findings and recommendations for clients' management
- Drafts detailed audit reports and presents results to clients
- Supervises and mentors junior audit staff, delegating tasks and providing guidance
- Reviews financial statements for compliance with accounting standards (IFRS, UK GAAP)
- Prepares accounts for smaller clients when required, supplementing the primary audit focus
- Maintains client relationships and identifies opportunities for additional services
- Manages project timelines and budgets to ensure profitable engagement delivery
- Stays current with accounting standards, audit regulations, and industry developments
- Communicates effectively with clients to gather information and discuss complex accounting issues

Profile
- Qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA) with substantial external audit experience
- Proven ability to lead full audit cycles independently from planning to completion
- Strong technical knowledge of accounting standards (IFRS, UK GAAP) and audit regulations
- Experience supervising and developing junior audit staff
- Excellent client relationship management skills
- Ability to identify financial reporting risks and evaluate internal controls
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
- Effective time management and ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines
- Clear communication skills for presenting findings to clients
- Experience in accounts preparation to support the secondary aspects of the role
