Audit Senior Job Vacancy

We are delighted to be representing a long established owner-managed accountancy firm in their search for an Audit Senior in Leeds to join their team and support the Audit Manager with the provision of audit for a portfolio of exciting clients.

This opportunity will suit someone who is ACA, ACCA, or CA qualified, or part qualified (or qualified by experience), with audit experience within an accountancy practice. You will be able to effectively communicate technical matters in an easy-to-understand way for clients and an elevated level of attention to detail will also be essential for this role. You’ll also need a good working knowledge of FRS102.

You’ll likely be working already as a Semi Senior looking for an exciting new challenge. Ideally, you’ll have experience of supporting and mentoring junior members of the team. You’ll be ready support the managers in creating a positive working environment, whilst ensuring the highest quality service is delivered. You’ll be able to accept autonomous responsibility to oversee projects to completion.

Job Purpose

  • Manage audits from planning to completion.
  • Prepare and review general accounts.
  • Support the Audit Managers to coach trainees?and support with their learning and development.
  • Monitor client deadlines and ensure these are met.
  • Monitor workflow of the team.
  • Identify and assess risk.
  • Able to work alongside and part of the senior management team and other sectors of the firm and support with company growth.
  • Ability to identify services that will add value to your portfolio of clients.
  • Confident in networking to promote the department.
  • Playing an integral part in the efficiency of the audit team and championing the firm’s values within the team.
  • Provide professional and personable client-facing communication skills.

The Successful Applicant

  • ACA, ACCA or CA part or fully qualified or qualified by experience with audit experience within practice
  • Self-motivated and reliable who is eager to progress
  • Experience of Pension Schemes and Charity Accounts/Audit and SRA Accounts Rules audits is useful but not essential.
  • Experience in audit, accounting and tax
  • A drive to deliver technical knowledge as a point of call for the team
  • Confident in reviewing processes and improving systems to boost efficiency
  • Strong communication skills are essential, both verbal and written
  • Commercial business acumen
  • A full, clean, UK driving license.
