Reed Accountancy are proud to be working with a business in Leeds who are recruiting an Assistant Financial Accountant to join their team. You will participate to deliver capital budgets, statutory accounts, annual revenue and contribute to Directorate Management Teams.

Location: Leeds City CentreJob Type: Full-time, Permanent (hybrid)Salary: £37,900 - £40,000

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Monthly Financial Control: Monitor service delivery, investigate, and resolve issues.
  • Annual Financial Timetable: Ensure outcomes align with the annual schedule.
  • Collaboration: Work with Finance and other business colleagues to meet corporate and financial goals.
  • Financial Guidance: Prepare and follow comprehensive financial guidance notes.
  • Legislation and Standards: Stay updated on relevant laws, professional guidance, and internal/external audit advice.
  • Financial Reporting: Review coding and financial reports to ensure compliance with budgets, performance indicators, and accounting standards.
  • Training and Development: Support training initiatives for finance and business colleagues.
  • Ad Hoc Requests: Respond to information requests, including Freedom of Information requests, promptly and accurately.

You will need to demonstrate:

  • Part-qualified (CIMA/ACCA etc)
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Strong understanding and experience of financial controls
  • Demonstrable experience of successfully managing budgets
  • Experience managing complex financial processes with multiple stakeholders
