Reed Finance are partnering with a Public Sector organisation in Leeds who are looking for a Financial Account to join their growing team. Benefits include hybrid working, local government pension scheme and free public transport in West Yorkshire.

Key responsibilities:

•    Maintain and work within a robust monthly financial control process to monitor service delivery, investigating and resolving all problems. •    Operate within, and deliver outcomes in line with, the annual financial timetable, •    Liaise with Finance colleagues and colleagues from across the business to ensure delivery of corporate and financial outcomes by the required completion dates. •    Prepare comprehensive financial guidance notes relevant to the role and ensure operation in line with this guidance. •    Maintain a complete and current understanding of legislation, professional guidance, advice from internal/external audit, Accounting Standards and any internal or statutory requirements specific to the role. •    Review coding and associated financial reporting in relation to budgets, performance indicators and Statement of Accounts in compliance with relevant guidelines. 

You will be able to demonstrate:

•    Holds a degree or have equivalent relevant experience in accounting. •    CIMA/CCAB qualified or passed finalist.•    Practical experience of successfully performing in a similar role.•    Strong understanding and experience of financial controls.•    Practical knowledge of financial reporting standards and CIPFA/IFRS Code.
