Axon Moore are pleased to be partnering with a highly successful and profitable manufacturing business near Wakefield to appoint a Financial Controller.The Financial Controller is the second most senior to the Finance Director, and will serve as a trusted No. 2 leader in the finance team to ensure the business has the best possible financial support.You will be working in a highly visible role in the business and be supported and mentored by an experienced FD and Board.The key responsibilities will include:
  • Leadership of the finance function, encompassing transactional processing and financial and management reporting
  • Managing key external relationships such as auditors and banks, and leading the year end audit
  • Overseeing all stock accounting processes and procedures, ensuring stock is correctly accounted for
  • Maintaining robust control of cash and working capital
  • Ownership of the CapEx budget and setting the budget process
  • Managing month end reporting and ownership of P&L
  • Involved in making key business decisions along with the Finance Director
  • Ongoing project work to automate and standardise processes and procedures
The ideal candidate for this role will possess the following skills and experience:
  • Qualified Accountant with strong all round financial controls experience
  • Manufacturing experience would be an essential prerequisite
  • Able to manage a team and work in a fast paced environment, able to deal with change and proactive enough to seek out improvements
  • Excellent communication skills and able to deal with a range of internal and external stakeholders
