Axon Moore is seeking a Financial Controller for a successful manufacturing business near Wakefield, offering a competitive salary of £65,000 to £75,000 per year.
The role requires a qualified accountant with at least 5 years of experience in financial controls, particularly within the manufacturing sector.
As the second most senior leader in the finance team, the Financial Controller will manage the finance function, oversee stock accounting, and maintain cash control.
Key responsibilities include managing external relationships, leading the year-end audit, and contributing to key business decisions alongside the Finance Director.
The ideal candidate should possess excellent communication skills and the ability to manage a team in a fast-paced environment.

Axon Moore are pleased to be partnering with a highly successful and profitable manufacturing business near Wakefield to appoint a Financial Controller.The Financial Controller is the second most senior to the Finance Director, and will serve as a trusted No. 2 leader in the finance team to ensure the business has the best possible financial support.You will be working in a highly visible role in the business and be supported and mentored by an experienced FD and Board.The key responsibilities will include:

Leadership of the finance function, encompassing transactional processing and financial and management reporting
Managing key external relationships such as auditors and banks, and leading the year end audit
Overseeing all stock accounting processes and procedures, ensuring stock is correctly accounted for
Maintaining robust control of cash and working capital
Ownership of the CapEx budget and setting the budget process
Managing month end reporting and ownership of P&L
Involved in making key business decisions along with the Finance Director
Ongoing project work to automate and standardise processes and procedures

The ideal candidate for this role will possess the following skills and experience:

Qualified Accountant with strong all round financial controls experience
Manufacturing experience would be an essential prerequisite
Able to manage a team and work in a fast paced environment, able to deal with change and proactive enough to seek out improvements
Excellent communication skills and able to deal with a range of internal and external stakeholders
