Gifford and Partners are working with a branded employer going through an exciting phase of growth and potential acquisitions. We're seeking a talented and strategic Financial Controller to provide financial stewardship and help drive the vision and business forward.

Reporting directly to the FD, the FC will oversee the financial operations of the business, combining operational expertise with strategic input. This role is an opportunity to lead a talented finance team, influence senior decision-making, and contribute to the company's long-term success as well as partnering with the Private Equity investors and likely seeing through a transaction/refinance process in the future. Key responsibilities will include and not be limited to;

  • Oversee the preparation of accurate financial reports, including management accounts, profit and loss, balance sheets, cash flow forecasts, and variance analysis.
  • Present monthly and quarterly financial results to senior leadership, highlighting key trends, risks, and opportunities.
  • Lead and develop a finance team, including three direct reports, fostering a culture of collaboration and high performance.
  • Collaborate with senior management to drive budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes, aligning financial targets with business goals.
  • Play an active role in financial due diligence and integration of potential acquisitions as part of the company's growth strategy.
  • Provide strategic financial analysis, including identifying cost-saving opportunities, improving margins, and supporting decision-making across the business.
  • Drive strategic initiatives to identify opportunities for operational improvement and scalability.
  • Implement effective systems for financial reporting, monitoring, and analysis to ensure timely and accurate information flow.
  • Manage cash flow, working capital, and liquidity to maintain adequate cash reserves and support business operations.
  • Oversee banking relationships and optimise systems for managing payments, receipts, and financial transactions.
  • Leverage experience from a larger organisation to establish best practices and enhance processes.
  • Demonstrate a strong aptitude for technology, using innovative approaches to support the company's growth and scalability.

Essentially, this role is targeting a professional qualified ACA, ACCA, ACMA individual. You will have exposure ideally operating as an FC or similar senior finance role. Demonstrated ability to manage and develop finance teams while partnering with senior leadership. Strong knowledge of financial reporting, accounting principles, and financial regulations. Experience of working within a growing, acquisitive business is highly desirable.
