Gifford and Partners have a new position and exciting opportunity to bring to the market in for of appointing a Management Accountant to join a profitable and well-established Manufacturing business based in South Leeds. Reporting directly to an experienced and qualified Finance Director, this is a hands-on role that requires someone willing to roll up their sleeves and get into the detail.

As Management Accountant, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the Finance Director with all aspects of the accounting function. This varied position will suit a proactive, commercially aware professional who thrives in a dynamic SME environment undergoing growth and change.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supporting the month-end management accounts process, including balance sheet reconciliations, accruals, prepayments, and stock provisions.
  • Overseeing Purchase Ledger, Payroll, Banking, and accounting entries to TB stage.
  • Preparing and processing monthly payrolls across the group, ensuring compliance and accuracy.
  • Conducting month-end bank reconciliations and preparing supplier payment runs.
  • Generating and reconciling sales invoices, including commercial invoicing for goods shipped internationally.
  • Preparing VAT returns, payroll reconciliations, and handling customs declarations where required.
  • Producing monthly sales and margin reports and undertaking ad-hoc reporting tasks.

Experience and background:

  • Proven experience in a similar role within a small, busy finance team-ideally within a manufacturing or SME environment.
  • High attention to detail, accuracy, and the ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with various departments.
  • Enthusiastic, committed, and proactive approach, with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
