- Ongoing preparation and review of management accounts (such as but not limited to the P/L and balance sheets and supporting reconciliations) within a set timeframe based on the clients’ reporting requirements. Reports produced to then be reviewed with the client finance manager as necessary.
- The identification and processing of journal adjustments in line with the client’s relevant accounting framework
- The preparation and consolidation of monthly, quarterly and annual reporting packs in a format agreed with the client
- Ensuring correct reconciliation of net income and remittance of cash to the client within set timeframe
- Supporting staff and clients in interpreting financial information
- Reviewing arrears reporting and escalating/ monitoring cases
- Attending client monthly and quarterly calls with a variety of stakeholders.
- Assisting on the client’s yearly audit and responding to auditors’ requests in a timely and accurate manner
- To produce monthly MI reports to review performance and liaise with the asset management team on the findings suggesting ways to potentially improve performance or maintain current performance levels.
- In conjunction with the asset management team and the client finance manager, prepare and have an input into the yearly budget setting for properties.
- Ad hoc analysis of financial and non-financial data
- Maintain the property close calendar with the client finance manager and ensure that the month end close for properties and GL has been completed correctly in line with client and system requirements.
- Review the bi-weekly payment run that have been completed by the junior client accountant and commit to pay as necessary.
- Approve tenant refunds in the system.
- Meet with the auditing team and review analysis and action any findings as required.
- Ensuring compliance with RICS regulations on client money protection
- Stay up to date with any changes to accounting legislation
- Providing assistance to the wider finance team as required from time to time
- Any other tasks as required by the business from time to time
- Providing training and mentoring to the client accountants.
- ACA/ACCA/CIMA Qualified
- Preferably had experience people management
- Self- Starter and able to work autonomously
- Excellent IT, especially Excel skills. Sage 200 accounting is advantageous.
