We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Team Manager to lead a dedicated team of Children's Social Workers in Leeds. You will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and well-being of children and families within our community.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Team Leadership: Provide effective leadership and supervision to a team of Children's Social Workers, fostering a positive and supportive work environment.
  • Case Management Oversight: Monitor and supervise the case management of individual children and families, ensuring timely assessments, intervention plans, and service delivery.
  • Performance Management: Set clear objectives, provide regular feedback, and support the professional development of team members.
  • Quality Assurance: Ensure that all practice is aligned with best practice guidelines, safeguarding protocols, and relevant legislation. Monitor the quality of service delivery and implement continuous improvement strategies.
  • Collaboration: Build strong working relationships with other professionals, including social workers, youth workers, educators, healthcare professionals, and community agencies, to ensure a coordinated approach to support.
  • Partnership Working: Develop and maintain strong partnerships with external agencies, such as the police, education, and healthcare, to promote effective collaboration and communication.
  • Strategic Planning: Contribute to the development and implementation of strategic plans and initiatives for the team, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
  • Resource Management: Effectively manage resources, including budgets, staffing, and training, to optimize service delivery.
  • Safeguarding: Uphold a commitment to safeguarding children, ensuring that all practice adheres to legal requirements and ethical standards.
  • Policy and Procedure: Stay abreast of relevant policies and procedures related to child protection, safeguarding, and social work practice.
  • Supervision and Support: Provide regular supervision to team members, offering guidance, support, and opportunities for reflection and development.


Qualifications:

  • Social Work Qualification (BA/BSc/DipSW or equivalent) essential.
  • Post-qualifying experience in Children's Services, ideally within a management or supervisory capacity.
  • Proven experience in leading and managing teams.
  • Strong understanding of child protection legislation, policies, and procedures.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
  • Commitment to ethical practice and culturally sensitive care.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage challenging situations.
