Key Account Manager - Summary

HPCareers are recruiting for an international, award-winning Design & Manufacturing company.

The Key Account Manager will manage the relationship with existing customers whilst working alongside Applications Engineers on existing and new business opportunities and secure improvements in volumes and margins. Travel will be necessary within this role, mainly within UK and Europe.

Key responsibilities:

  • Drive growth opportunities for our business and keep systems and forecasts current.
  • Develop excellent relationships with a portfolio of major clients.
  • Anticipate account changes and improvements.
  • Acquire a thorough understanding of key market and customer needs and requirements.
  • Full accountability for the accounts and their growth
  • Ensure customer satisfaction and sustainability is consistently delivered.
  • Meet decision makers, create quotes, follow-up leads and close new business.
  • Prepare and update Sales Plans and provide regular reports of progress and forecasts to internal / external stakeholders using account metrics.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends and new technologies.
  • Resolve issues and problems faced by customers effectively to maintain confidence.
  • Lead communication between key customers and internal teams.
  • Accountable for effective activity and delivering sales performance targets.
  • Convey customer requirements to the business to ensure best fit and accurately priced solutions.

Required experience:

  • Key Account management - Automotive, Construction / Agriculture, and/or Material Handling.
  • Management of cross-functional stakeholders both internally and externally.
  • An ability to sell consultatively, understand and sell to value drivers.
  • Targeting and winning new business via day-to-day Key Account Management.
  • Sales budget delivery with evidence of a structured and consultative sales process.
  • Exceptional networking and relationship building skills.
  • Strong Microsoft 365 skills
