The Role:

Business Development Director - North West / Yorkshire Region
Hybrid working - Leeds Base
65-75k base salary, plus car allowance & commission structure

Our client, a well established and leading nationally focused engineering building services organisation with a stellar track record is currently looking to appoint a senior leader to take responsibility for Business Development across the North West & Yorkshire regions. The role will report into the partners directly and will play a key role in unlocking an ambitious growth strategy which will grow market share geographically within a number of key infrastructure sectors.

Key Responsibilities:

Business Development:
* Develop & lead business related strategies for new work.
* Developing and delivering new business strategy within the wider practice, strengthening relationships with key accounts, and identifying areas of opportunity within key sectors and geographic locations.
* Support the creation of an effective bid management team, associated marketing materials and data and a streamlined proposal process to enable any of our team to deliver quality tenders quickly and effectively.
* To research, develop and nurture the company's reputation within certain sectors, through a tactical marketing & BD plan.
* Support development of business service areas / sectors of work.
* Create client satisfaction reporting and ensure client feedback is sought on all projects.
* Support the development of a key account management process.

Marketing:
* Lead the development and ongoing implementation of a marketing strategy for the North West & Yorkshire region and align with the wider practice.
* To champion the brand in the region, ensuring consistent and relevant messaging that aligns with the wider practice.
* Lead ongoing company marketing for the region using existing resources and means (including social media such as LinkedIn, X, Instagram and website content) to increase company visibility and interaction on a regional level.

Regional lead for general consultancy procurement (Architect, PM, Client-led projects)
* Lead Consultancy type project procurement through traditional approaches.
* Build key Clients and associated strategies.

Bid work and fees
* Support fee bids including individual projects, frameworks and ongoing 'repeat'.
* Record and monitor fee bids to allow for project win-rate to be measured and reported on.

The Person:

Candidates should hold significant commercial experience in a building services related industry sector with substantial knowledge of how projects are initiated and decisions made, key stakeholders and the associated supply chain etc.

A proven track record of new business growth would be required, leading from the front and overseeing the entire sales process from enquiry through bid, negotiation, technical scope expectation, ensuring successful project delivery and customer satisfaction.

You should have well established networks developed within the Yorkshire and/or North West regions across the building services, civils, or construction contractor space etc.

Ideally degree qualified with evidence of continued professional development.
