My client is an award-winning and leading RegionalPremium House Builder, committed to delivering high-quality homes across the Northwest, Yorkshire and the Midlands. They have been in the industry for50 yearsand has built a renowned reputation for delivering leading premium homes in these regions. Due to increased projects, my client is looking to appoint a Contracts Manager to oversee multiple sites across Yorkshire, mostly centred around the Greater Leeds area.


The Role

As a Contracts Manager, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the successful delivery of their premium housing developments, overseeing 5-6 sites at any one time. Each development consists of 80-200 units, and you will be responsible for all stages of the construction process, ensuring quality, safety, and profitability targets are met or exceeded. Working closely with their site teams, subcontractors, and the wider business, your focus will be on maintaining their high standards of excellence and ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget.

Qualifications

  • Degree or equivalent in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field (desirable but not essential).
  • SMSTS, CSCS, and First Aid at Work certifications are required.
  • Full UK driving licence.

Key Experience

  • Proven experience as a Contracts Manager or similar role within the residential construction industry, ideally with experience in premium house building.
  • Ability to manage multiple sites simultaneously (5-6), each consisting of 80-200 units.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of construction processes, health and safety regulations, and NHBC standards.
  • A proven track record of delivering high-quality housing developments on time and within budget.
  • Demonstrable experience of NHBC award-winning projects is highly desirable.

Duties

  • Oversee the management and coordination of multiple housing development sites simultaneously, ensuring projects are delivered to the highest standard.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant health and safety regulations and company policies.
  • Maintain strong relationships with subcontractors, suppliers, and internal stakeholders to ensure smooth project delivery.
  • Provide clear and consistent leadership to site teams, promoting a culture of quality and safety.
  • Monitor project progress, including cost control, quality control, and scheduling to meet or exceed targets.
  • Review and manage project programmes, ensuring timely completion of units, from foundation to handover.
  • Conduct regular site visits, audits, and progress meetings to ensure issues are identified and addressed promptly.
  • Liaise with customers and clients to manage expectations and maintain excellent relationships throughout the build process.
  • Oversee snagging and handover processes to ensure customer satisfaction and premium quality.
  • Ensure NHBC standards are met, with a track record of achieving awards highly desirable.
  • Report directly to the Managing Director, providing updates on project performance and addressing any risks or challenges.
