Company Overview:

This is a unique opportunity to be part of a new venture from the ground up. Our client have a global presence with over 1000 team members within their manufacturing facilities worldwide and are expanding their operations in the UK by moving logistics in-house.

We are seeking to recruit a Customer Service and Logistics Manager with a background in supply chain, warehouse or logistics management or maybe within a retail environment.   • Location: Leeds
  • Salary: circa 34,000 + 2,000 bonus
  • Working Hours: Monday - Friday, 8 AM - 5 PM
  • Benefits: 25 days holiday + bank holidays / 5% matched pension

Role Overview:

The Customer Service and Logistics Manager will play a crucial role in setting up and managing the new warehouse for the UK operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for transitioning logistics from an external haulage company to in-house management. This is a highly autonomous role, requiring someone with strong decision-making abilities and excellent people skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Establish and manage the new warehouse, including recruitment and management of a small team.
  • Serve as a key holder, overseeing site security, opening, and closing procedures, and ensuring health and safety compliance.
  • Handle all aspects of site management, from maintenance to procurement of supplies.
  • Be fully involved in being a key point of contact and liaising with customers, drivers, and internal staff to support with the management of logistics, orders, invoices, and necessary documentation for goods handling. Effectively managing queries and ensuring a solution is provided in all situations
  • Coordinate with the Project Manager and internal team based in the EU.

Ideal Candidate:

  • Self-sufficient, proactive, and trustworthy with a strong work ethic.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.
  • Background in logistics, warehouse, or supply chain management.
  • Management experience is highly desirable.
  • Spanish language skills desirable.
  • SAP experience is advantageous.
