JOB TITLE:
Piping Design Draughtsman
OVERALL PURPOSE:
This role will comprise of working closely with multiple disciplines within the design office as well as the piping design manager, to effectively take a design then deliver packages of technical drawings which meet project and client requirements but also enable the fabrication and installation works.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:
路 To be able to travel around the UK as and when needed to carry out site surveys.
路 Develop and modify models within 3D AutoCAD and Cadworx as requested by Pipework Design Manager.
路 Creation of technical drawings (GAs, Layouts, detail drawings, P&IDs etc.) from the 3D model.
路 Create fabrication isometrics from Cadworx model.
路 Creation of bill of materials.
路 Able to present models during design reviews.
PERSON SPECIFICATION / KEY COMPETENCIES:
Mechanical / Piping Draughting 路 3+ Years in a design office.
Understanding of P&IDs drawing convention and symbology. 路
Creation of Fabrication Isometrics 路
Use of 3D AutoCAD 路
Experience of draughting piping systems within the processing industry, chemical preferred. 路
Use of Cadworx (Training will be provided). 路
Modelling steelwork structures and skids. 路
Designing or specifying pipe supports 路
Knowledge of ASME codes specifically B31.3 路
Surveying experience, 3D Lidar Scanning also desirable 路
Modelling with aid of point clouds 路
Use of Microsoft 365 product suite 路
HNC / Degree in Mechanical Engineering 路 Driving license 路 Any safety passports such as EMSS.
