Deva Recruitment is seeking a HGV Class 1 Driver in the LS9 area of Leeds with a salary of £14.50 per hour, increasing to £16.14 per hour including holiday pay.
The position is a temp to perm role requiring 50 hours of work per week, with paid hours at 45, and regular overtime available.
Candidates must have a valid HGV Class 1 license, a CPC qualification, and experience in HGV driving, preferably in waste management.
Key responsibilities include safely transporting waste materials, performing routine vehicle checks, and maintaining accurate documentation.
Weekend work is required, with overtime rates of £20.40 per hour on weekdays and £23.53 per hour on weekends.

Job description

Deva Recruitment are looking for a HGV Class 1 Driver in the LS9 area of Leeds.

Class 1 Driver

Temp to Perm /temp

Location: Leeds - LS9 area

Hourly Rate: £14.50/hr £16..14ph Inclusive of Holiday pay

Hours: 6am - 6pm (50 hours/week, paid for 45)

Overtime:

Regular Overtime: Time and a third £20.40ph Inclusive of Holiday Pay

Weekend Overtime: Time and a half £23.53ph Incluisve of Holiday Pay

Weekend Work Required

Key Responsibilities:

Safely transport waste materials between locations

Ensure all activities comply with safety regulations

Perform routine vehicle checks and basic maintenance

Plan efficient routes for waste collection and transportation

Maintain accurate documentation (collections, deliveries, incidents)

Provide great customer service and support environmental efforts

Qualifications:

Valid HGV Class 1 license

CPC qualification (Certificate of Professional Competence)

Experience in HGV driving, preferably in waste management

Knowledge of vehicle maintenance & safety regulations

Excellent driving, navigation & communication skills
