Early Years Educator

Job OverviewWe are seeking a passionate and dedicated Early Years Educator to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in early childhood education and a genuine love for working with young children. This role involves creating a nurturing and stimulating environment that promotes the holistic development of children in our care. You will be responsible for planning and implementing engaging activities that support learning through play, fostering social skills, and ensuring the well-being of each child.

Roles:

  • Develop and implement age-appropriate educational programmes that cater to the individual needs of children.
  • Create a safe, welcoming, and inclusive environment for all children.
  • Observe and assess children's development, documenting their progress and planning next steps.
  • Communicate effectively with children, parents, and colleagues to build strong relationships.
  • Manage classroom behaviour with positive reinforcement strategies.
  • Lead group activities that encourage teamwork and cooperation among children.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the nursery space, ensuring all health and safety regulations are followed.
  • Collaborate with other educators to share best practices and enhance the overall learning experience.

Requirements:

  • A PGCE/QTS
  • A qualification in Early Childhood Education or a related field is essential.
  • Previous experience working with children in a nursery or childcare setting is highly desirable.
  • A strong knowledge of the EYFS framework
  • Strong communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities to manage small groups of children effectively.
  • A proactive approach to driving children's engagement through creative play and structured activities.
  • An understanding of child development principles and the ability to apply them in practice.
  • A familiarity with BSL/ Makaton is advantageous
