The Opportunity
Due to continual growth, we are excited to offer an opportunity for a Digital Radiography Field Service Engineer to join our expanding Service Division Team. This is a home-based role covering the Southwest of England, with additional travel across the UK as required. As a key member of our team, you will specialise in maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing our cutting-edge digital X-ray systems, which require expertise in computer software, hardware, and networking, in addition to general X-ray equipment. Your role will be crucial in ensuring our customers receive the highest level of service and support.
Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose, repair, and maintain digital X-ray systems, with a focus on software, hardware, and networking.
- Conduct inspections, fault diagnosis, and configuration of specialised X-ray acquisition software.
- Perform installations, commissioning and annual service visits for new and existing X-ray equipment at customer sites.
- Troubleshoot customer issues both onsite and remotely, via phone support or remote desktop access.
- Coordinate with OEMs and third-party suppliers to source spare parts, technical manuals, and support.
- Complete service reports and administrative tasks with accuracy and in a timely manner.
- Manage your workload effectively, scheduling and planning jobs to ensure customer satisfaction.
- Maintain up-to-date product knowledge and adhere to company guidelines and procedures.
About You
- We are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented professional with a background in electronics, computing, biomedical engineering, or a related field.
- You should be skilled in managing multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment and demonstrate strong problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential, as this role involves frequent interaction with customers, both in-person and remotely.
Extensive travel will be required, including overnight stays.
Essential Skills & Experience
- Proficient in computer hardware fault-finding down to component level (e.g., replacing hard drives, DIMMs).
- Experience troubleshooting within a Windows environment.
- Basic understanding of networking principles, including routing, switching, and TCP/IP.
- Strong communication skills across all mediums.
- Excellent time management, organisational abilities, and attention to detail.
- Experience with electronic, electrical, and mechanical repair, including the use of testing equipment (e.g., multimeters, oscilloscopes).
- Ability to perform precise repairs with a high degree of manual dexterity.
