We are seeking a Finance Business Partner for a six-month interim contract with a public sector organisation based in the heart of Leeds. This role is ideal for someone who has previously worked in the public sector and is a qualified accountant. You will play a crucial role in collaborating with policy teams to monitor performance against budgets, plan future funding requirements, and develop innovative funding solutions with investors and external funders.

Day-to-day of the role:•    Lead on the financial evaluation of options for implementing plans to achieve desired outcomes.•    Provide financial advice on the allocation of resources and alignment of short to medium term objectives within available resources.•    Support the Senior Finance Business Partner with financial modelling of funding and investment options.•    Assist in creating investor-facing presentations and materials.•    Monitor and provide insights and advice on the financial performance of a complex portfolio of funding programmes.•    Oversee the monthly management accounts, annual budgeting, and quarterly forecasting processes, ensuring they are linked to business planning and focused on driving performance.•    Provide expertise and advice on financial matters to enhance organisational performance.•    Support the delivery of an effective financial business partnering service across the organisation, offering advice, support, challenge, and guidance to colleagues while ensuring financial controls and procedures are adhered to.•    Build credible relationships with internal policy teams and external funders.

Required Skills & Qualifications:•    Qualification in finance (CIPFA, CIMA, ACCA, ACA).•    Previous experience in a similar role within the public sector is highly desirable.•    Strong financial modelling and evaluation skills.•    Ability to create and present investor-facing materials.•    Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.•    Proficient in managing complex budgets and financial planning.
