We are seeking a Finance Manager to ensure the effective and efficient functioning of our Finance department. This role involves providing assistance to the Director of Finance and the Financial Controller, managing the finance team, and fostering a culture of ownership, empowerment, and innovation.
Day-to-day of the role:- Manage the Finance department, promoting a culture of ownership, empowerment, and innovation.
- Identify, implement, and monitor additional controls to facilitate effective financial control.
- Continuously review finance team processes to identify and implement the most efficient ways of working.
- Oversee month and year-end accounts production, including related analysis and supporting calculations.
- Ensure accounting controls are maintained and signed off, such as Balance Sheet and Bank Reconciliations.
- Liaise with external auditors alongside the Financial Controller to ensure a timely and accurate annual audit cycle.
- Support the team in routine duties, specifically in finance operations and management/financial accounting tasks.
- Maintain a thorough understanding of accounting standards relevant to the firm and system tools like Sage 200.
- Oversee relevant reporting to external parties, such as FCA and HMRC, and assist in the Treasury Management function.
- Report any risks detrimental to clients or the firm’s reputation arising from inadequate procedures, systems, or data handling.
- Ensure compliance with FCA requirements, the Branch Manual, Code of Conduct policies, and T&C Framework.
- Educated to A-level standard, including GCSEs in Maths and English.
- Fully Qualified Accountant (ACCA/ CIMA / ACA).
- Previous successful managerial/supervisory experience.
- Competent user of Microsoft Office applications (ideally to an Intermediate level).
- Strong leadership skills, able to train, motivate, and evaluate colleagues successfully.
- Good awareness of HMRC & FCA rules.
