We are seeking an experienced and proactive Finance Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of our clients Finance department. This is an exciting opportunity for a qualified accountant with strong managerial skills to become an integral member of the team.

The Finance Manager will play a pivotal role in managing financial controls, overseeing month-end and year-end accounts, and ensuring the smooth running of our finance operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the Finance team.
  • Identify, implement, and monitor additional controls to support effective financial control across the department.
  • Continuously review and optimize finance team processes to ensure maximum efficiency.
  • Oversee the production of month-end and year-end accounts, including related analysis and supporting calculations.
  • Ensure the integrity of accounting controls, such as Balance Sheet and Bank Reconciliations, are maintained and signed off.
  • Collaborate with the Financial Controller to liaise with external auditors, ensuring a smooth and accurate annual audit cycle.
  • Support the Finance team in executing their daily duties, including financial operations, management accounting, and reporting tasks.
  • Stay up to date with accounting standards and relevant regulatory changes.
  • Utilise financial systems, such as Sage 200, to ensure optimal functionality.
  • Maintain an in-depth understanding of FCA requirements, including Client Money Calculations, CMAR reporting, MIFIDPRU reporting, and ICARA processes.
  • Oversee reporting to external parties like FCA and HMRC and manage Treasury Management reporting.
  • Proactively identify and report risks related to financial operations that could impact client or company reputation.
  • Ensure compliance with FCA regulations, the Branch Manual, Code of Conduct policies, and the T&C Framework.

Essential:

  • Educated to A-level standard, including GCSEs in Maths and English.
  • Fully qualified accountant (ACCA, CIMA, ACA, or equivalent).
  • Proven experience in a managerial or supervisory role within a finance department.
  • Prior experience in financial accounting within a professional services organisation.

Knowledge & Skills:

  • Strong competency in Microsoft Office applications (intermediate level or above).
  • Proven ability to train, motivate, and evaluate colleagues effectively.
  • Good knowledge of HMRC and FCA regulations.
  • Strong leadership abilities, with the ability to delegate tasks effectively and lead by example.
  • High level of integrity and commitment to maintaining ethical standards.
  • Ability to foster a positive team culture.

This is a hybrid role, with 3 days in the office and 2 working from home.
