- Ensure compliance with relevant tax laws and regulations wherever it operates globally
- Proactively manage all risks associated with tax matters and maximise available reliefs, exemptions and incentives
- Support organisational strategy by providing technical tax support and expertise
- Prepare effective and insightful management reporting, forecasts and five year plans
- Manage and develop a small team to ensure duties are completed efficiently and on time
- Research and collate relevant information on international tax obligations to aid decision making on expanding operations into new territories
- Define and implement overseas tax compliance strategy, including global mobility taxes
- Ensure the delivery of organisational international payrolls
- Cultivate and develop internal and external relationships with stakeholders and tax advisers
- Lead VAT and tax compliance audits
- Develop and deliver appropriate tax training to raise awareness across the organisation
- A recognised professional tax or accounting qualification (or qualified by experience)
- Minimum of 5 years tax or financial accounting experience and current knowledge of UK tax legislation
- Experience of leadership in a complex organisation
- Highly effective interpersonal skills, able to represent the Finance Service at a senior level
- Strong team management and development experience
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Strong IT skills and experience using large ERP systems for analysis and reporting
