This is an exciting opportunity for an interim Finance Business Manager to join the Not for Profit organisation. You will play a pivotal role in maintaining SLA and in ensuring effective financial management across the designated schools. Working very closely with the Senior Leadership team reporting into the Director of Finance.

Financial Management & Budgeting
- Monitor and track academy budgets, providing accurate, real-time budget positions to leadership.
- Lead budgeting efforts with Headteachers/Principals and the Director of Finance, aligning financial planning with educational goals.
- Oversee income sources (e.g., catering, nursery, lettings) and identify new funding opportunities to support academy growth.

Reporting & Compliance
- Prepare and review monthly financial reports, ensuring accuracy and compliance with Trust policies.
- Support year-end financial processes, liaising with internal and external auditors as required.
- Ensure adherence to the Academies Handbook and Trust financial regulations, reporting non-compliance issues promptly.

Strategic Financial Guidance
- Collaborate with the Director of Finance to evaluate and enhance internal controls.
- Monitor and manage contracts with the Contracts and Procurement's Officer to ensure compliance, value, and timely renewal.
- Assist senior leaders in optimising staffing structures in line with financial guidelines.

Payroll & Reconciliation
- Conduct monthly payroll reconciliations, resolving discrepancies in partnership with the central HR team.
Profile
- Strong experience in financial management, budgeting, and compliance, ideally within an educational or public sector environment.
- Proven ability to manage multiple income sources and identify additional funding streams.
- Excellent analytically skills, with a proactive approach to problem-solving and a keen eye for detail.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, capable of collaborating effectively with both finance and non-finance professionals.
- Demonstrated ability to lead a finance team, ensuring day-to-day operations align with Trust standards and SLAs.
Job Offer
- Day rate, £300 per day inside IR35
