Interim Head of FinanceLocation: Leeds - On-SiteSalary: Up to £60,000Contract: 6 MonthsWe are excited to be working with a charitable group based in Leeds who are looking to appoint a qualified Interim Head of Finance to cover a period of permanent recruitment. As the Interim Head of Finance, you will be responsible for providing strategic leadership and direction for the financial management of the organisation. This role will support the organisation’s growth and financial sustainability, offering commercial insights to aid decision-making and driving operational excellence within the Finance team.
Key Responsibilities:Strategic Leadership & Management:
- Provide strategic financial guidance and advice to the Senior Leadership Team (SLT).
- Lead annual and medium-term financial planning, forecasting, and funding requirements in collaboration with the COO.
- Ensure effective risk management, resource allocation, and financial sustainability.
- Lead the Finance team, ensuring high-quality, efficient services.
- Develop and implement financial policies, controls, and reporting systems.
- Ensure compliance with financial regulations and best practices.
- Contribute to the development of strategic and business plans.
Financial Planning & Reporting:
- Oversee the development, maintenance, and monitoring of the organisation’s budget and forecasts.
- Ensure accuracy and compliance in payroll, VAT, gift aid, and other financial systems.
- Lead the preparation of financial reports, ensuring they meet statutory and governance requirements.
- Manage the annual audit process, liaising with auditors and relevant stakeholders.
- Oversee procurement strategies and ensure value for money in all purchasing.
Team Management & Development:
- Manage and develop the Finance team, setting clear objectives and ensuring effective performance management.
- Provide training and coaching to staff, supporting financial literacy across the organisation.
- Ensure the Finance team’s operations are aligned with broader organisational goals and strategies.
Compliance & Governance:
- Ensure compliance with financial legislation, accounting standards, and internal policies.
- Manage legal, insurance, VAT, PAYE, and other corporate compliance matters.
- Oversee the integrity of the organization’s financial systems and records, including cash flow and asset management.
