What does this role entail? Here is a very brief snapshot:

  • provision of high-quality personal tax compliance but includes the provision of ad hoc advice related to the annual compliance cycle. Preparation and submission of corporation tax returns (reviewed by Tax Department)
  • Our clients include individuals, trusts, partnerships and LLPs across a range of sectors, particularly landed estates and rural businesses.
  • Support the development of more junior staff in on the job training and supervise trainees.
  • Get involved in firm wide advisory, committees and presentations if the individual wishes to do so. Direct communication with clients

What are the essentials for this role?

  • Have experience of management as you will be managing your own portfolio whilst also being responsible for reviewing the work of more junior tax staff
  • Will be experienced in the delivery and management of personal tax compliance services.
  • Experience in the provision of tax advice, including, inheritance and capital gains tax planning, and trust planning. The exact mix of advisory will be tailored to the strengths of the individual, but a broad base is required to permit work in most if not all the above areas.
  • Land based issues form a significant part of the current workload.
  • Be from a professional services background
  • Comfortable working on their own initiative as well as being a good team player
  • Excellent IT skills
