Accelerate Teaching is seeking an enthusiastic and skilled DT (Design and Technology) Technician to join a thriving secondary school in Kirklees. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with experience in the field to support the teaching and learning of DT, helping to inspire the next generation of designers and engineers.

As a DT Technician, you will play a pivotal role in the smooth running of the department. You will assist teachers in delivering high-quality practical lessons, maintain equipment, and ensure health and safety standards are met. This is a hands-on role that requires both technical expertise and the ability to work closely with staff and students.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the preparation and delivery of DT lessons, including setting up equipment and materials.
  • Maintain and organise tools, machinery, and equipment to ensure they are in excellent working order.
  • Assist in the safe and efficient running of workshops, ensuring all health and safety protocols are followed.
  • Provide technical support to both staff and students during practical sessions.
  • Assist in the procurement and management of materials, ensuring stock levels are maintained.
  • Help with the development of resources and materials for teaching.

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

  • Previous experience working as a DT Technician or in a similar technical support role.
  • A good understanding of health and safety regulations within a workshop environment.
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • A passion for Design and Technology and a commitment to supporting students' learning.
  • The ability to work well under pressure and manage multiple tasks efficiently.
