Academics are currently searching for an experienced and passionate RE teacher to teach at one of our diverse secondary schools in the Wakefield area. This is a great opportunity for an individual that is willing to make an impact on the curriculum and guide students across KS3 and KS4 to reach their full potential.

This will be a long term vacancy starting from January 2025 and will run until the end of the academic year with the likelihood of a direct contract from September 2025.

Key responsibilities of an RE teacher

  • Controlling the classroom and ensuring that the schools behaviour policy is being followed.
  • Teaching RE to a high standard to students across KS3 and KS4.
  • Engaging with other members of the team, sharing ideas and contributing towards the RE curriculum.
  • Track student's progress and help those who may be falling behind.
  • Create a positive classroom environment where students feel comfortable expressing their religious beliefs.

Requirements of an RE teacher.

  • Right to work in the UK
  • Qualified teaching status (QTS)
  • Extensive knowledge and a deep understanding of RE
  • A relevant degree related to RE
