Assistant Director of SEND & Inclusion Vacancy Available

Hours: Full time – 37 per week

Salary: Negotiable

Venn Group are currently working with a Local Authority in Yorkshire who are seeking an Assistant Director of SEND & Inclusion for a 6- 9 month contract.

Main duties of the job:

  • Preparing for and leading on the SEND Inspection process
  • Leading and developing services that ensure children and young people with additional needs and SEND are able to achieve their potential and address the causes of inequalities in educational outcomes and achievement
  • Leading on creating a culture of innovation, high expectation and high aspiration, where every child and young person is supported and motivated to aim high and achieve their best, leading to a transformation in educational outcomes across the district
  • Building, nurturing and sustaining effective multi-agency partnerships, particularly with health colleagues, ensuring the delivery of needs-led integrated, joined-up, fit for purpose and responsive services
  • Responsible for promoting the inclusion of vulnerable children and young people within educational settings and providing effective leadership via close partnership working across the education sector
  • Ensuring effective leadership and management of advice, challenge and support to education providers on meeting the needs of C&YP with SEND and excluded children
  • Ensuring effective arrangements are in place for children who are excluded from schools to receive the appropriate educational provision within the required timeframes
  • Ensuring that special schools work cohesively and collaboratively across the District to actively promote inclusive opportunities for C&YP with SEND, including outreach support
