Chillers Line Leader

I am looking for an experienced Line Leader to work within the Chillers/Refrigeration department, of one my clients, a busy Manufacturing and Engineering company based in Leeds.
Reporting to the Team Leader, you will provide support and training for all areas that fall under the Chillers/Refrigeration department, which include Brazing, Panels and Assembly.Â
Day to day duties will include:
-Maintain and work to improve key measurements such as lead times, labour costs, productivity etc.
-Achieve on time delivery of units to the customer.
-Support the development of 5S capability within the area.
-Lead a team of reports
-Maintain Zellis time and attendance records and return to work interviews
-Carry out first level disciplinaries and support the TL in the investigation of more serious incidents.
-Proactively address health and safety issues, conducting risk assessments and implementing any improvements identified.
-Assess and distribute work within the team.
-Hold team briefings as and when required.
-Determine training requirements for the team.
-Make recommendations to improve and achieve departmental targets.
-Ensure that internal quality problems and customer concerns are fully investigated.
-Required to support and stand in for Team Leader when required
Key skills and experience required for the role include:
-Knowledge of refrigeration and air conditioning systems would be beneficial
-Ability to be flexible and available for overtime
-Good communication skills
-Supervisory experience would be an advantage
-Knowledge of the Company’s disciplinary and grievance procedures
-Ability to maintain good working relationships within all levels of the Company
-Safety, Environmental & Quality awareness and understanding
-Ability to challenge should an employee not be working to the expected level required
-Working knowledge of Microsoft office particularly Word and Excel.
You will be required to work a core of 39hrs per week, from 6am to 2.30pm from Monday to Thursday with a 11.45am finish on a Friday. The starting salary for the role is up to £31k pa Depending on Experience, which will rise to £34k once fully trained.
