We are currently working on behalf of a housing association in Yorkshire for a Housing Assistant to support their Rent and Service Charge Team on a temporary basis. The role will entail remote working, with a few days training in their Leeds Central offices.
The main purpose of the role will be to assist the Rent & Service Charge Team, in ensuring that rent and service charges are calculated in line with policy, and ensuring revised charges are entered onto the system correctly.
Responsibilities of the Housing Assistant:
- Supporting the Rent and Service Charge Team with preparing annual service charge schedules for a variety of schemes
- Updating accurate information on the housing system
- Producing annual rent and service charge letters, ensuring that the letters go out on time and in accordance with group policy
- Assisting with the completion of annual income and expenditure reports for Homeowners
- Responding to internal and external customer queries relating to rents and service charges
- Preparing and posting the Service Charge Journal on a monthly basis
Requirements of the Housing Assistant:
- Previous experience working within social housing (particularly within rents, leasehold or service charge teams)
- Excellent eye for detail
- Ability to utilise Excel
- Strong literacy skills
