Who We Are:Pivot Group are a specialist independent education provision offering therapeutic, nurture-based education for learners with Autism, complex social interaction needs, emotional challenges, and other learning needs.  We are on a journey of growth and are looking for a strategic focused HR Director to join them on their journey.

Job Overview:As the HR Director you will be responsible for designing and implementing the People strategy to support the strategic growth of Pivot Group across the UK education sector.  This role will oversee talent growth and development, employee relations, compensation and benefits, compliance, and overall HR policies and procedures to support a high-performing and inclusive workplace culture.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic HR Leadership

  • Develop and implement a HR strategy that aligns with our goals and objectives
  • Provide expert guidance to senior leadership on HR-related matters, including workforce planning and organisational development
  • Foster a positive and inclusive company culture that aligns with the mission and values of Pivot Group

Talent Development & Acquisition

  • Oversee recruitment, selection, and onboarding processes to attract and retain top talent in the education sector
  • Develop and implement strategies for employee engagement, retention, and succession planning
  • Monitor and assess workforce performance, facilitating professional development initiatives

Employee Relations & Compliance

  • Handle employee relations matters, including conflict resolution, grievances, and disciplinary actions
  • Develop and enforce policies and procedures that promote a fair and consistent workplace environment
  • Ensure compliance is up to date and monitored

Compensation, Benefits, & Performance Management

  • Design and oversee competitive compensation and benefits programs that attract and retain top-tier talent
  • Lead performance management processes, including evaluations, feedback mechanisms, and employee development plans
  • Ensure equitable and transparent pay structures within the organisation

Training & Development

  • Develop and implement training programs to enhance employee skills and professional growth
  • Encourage continuous learning and career development opportunities for all staff members
  • Support leadership training initiatives to enhance management capabilities

About youWe are seeking a dynamic leader who is able to work both strategically and operationally, you will be highly collaborative in your approach and a pragmatist who instinctively knows where to add value. You will be able to act as a key sounding board for the senior leadership team across Pivot Group, facilitating the improvement of leadership qualities and hence individual and collective performance and culture.

What will you need:

  • Chartered Member of the CIPD (Level 7)
  • Proven experience of developing and embedding a People Strategy
  • Strong leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills
  • Experience in supporting an SME through growth
